Tennessee roads can be very busy each day. People drive their vehicles to work, school, to go shopping, run other errands, entertainment, see family and friends and many other locations. With all the people going different locations the roads can be very crowded at times. Drivers on the road need to drive carefully and they rely on the other drivers on the road to drive carefully as well.

If drivers do not all drive carefully, motor vehicle accidents occur. Even drivers who drive perfectly can be in accidents if the other drivers on the road are not careful as well. Unfortunately, accidents occur often in Tennessee and many those accidents result in injuries to those involved.

Tennessee accident statistics

In 2020, there were a total of 175,137 accidents in Tennessee and 1,742 occurred in Anderson County. Of the total number of accidents, 42,301 resulted in injuries and 1,231 resulted in fatalities. Over the last five years the average number of accidents in Tennessee was a little higher though. From 2016 – 2020 there was an average of 200,660 accidents each year and there were an average of 48,017 accidents involving injuries. Interestingly though the average number of accidents was actually lower than in 2020. The average number of accidents with fatalities was 1,094.

The accidents involving injuries can be very devastating for the victims. Not only are they left with physical injuries, but financial difficulties as well. Medical bills can add up quickly and people may lose income if they are not able to work. The victims may be entitled to compensation though if another driver is responsible for the accident.

As one can see from the statistics above, there are many people involved in accidents each year in Tennessee. Every time people get into their cars there is a possibility that they will be in an accident. However, if they did not cause the accident, they should not have to suffer the financial consequences that result from them. Experienced attorneys understand the importance of the compensation and may be a useful resource.
